National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM)
October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month! This is an annual campaign, led by the Department of Homeland Security, to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity. NCSAM is designed to engage and educate both public and private sector partners through events and initiatives. The goal of these initiatives is to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity, provide partners with the tools and resources needed to stay safe online, and increase the resiliency of the Nation in the event of a cyber incident. You can learn more about NCSAM and find lots of additional resources at the National Cybersecurity Alliance web page.
Everlaw is celebrating NCSAM with weekly awareness activities, including team quiz challenges, aligning with the 2017 NCSAM themes. Read on to celebrate with us.

How does Everlaw follow these principles?
Lock down your login.
Everlaw uses strong two-factor authentication (not SMS-based) and monitors and enforces adherence to this security requirement.
Keep a clean machine.
Everlaw requires regular software updates on company machines, and our engineering team ensures that all software patches for our infrastructure are implemented during each release cycle (sooner if needed).
When in doubt, throw it out.
Everlaw trains our team on human factors in security, including social engineering strategies such as phishing and spear-phishing.
Back it up.
Everlaw has a Backup and Recovery Policy and engineers who rotate duties to ensure that required backups are occurring as scheduled.
Own your online presence.
Share with care.
Everlaw has an Information Classification and Security Policy, and we make sure the team understands the difference between our information categories and the importance of labeling documents.
Personal information is like money. Value it. Protect it.
Everlaw secures the personal information of our employees and customers, and we undergo examination by independent third-party security auditors and penetration testers, in addition to engaging in team awareness and education campaigns, like NCSAM.
Thanks for celebrating NCSAM with Everlaw!
